Children shine at Johor hockey championship


HUNDREDS of children from 17 Tamil schools in Johor took part in one of the largest state-wide hockey championships, Malaysia Nanban reported.

SJK(T) Jalan Sialang in Tangkak emerged champions in the boys category to take home the trophy and RM1,000 in prize money.

The girls category saw SJK (T) Jalan Yahya Awal from Johor Baru emerge as overall champions and also receive a trophy and RM1,000.

The Sialang Tamil school’s star player, Pugazhenthi Jeyachandran, who finished the tournament as the top scorer, was selected as the top player of the tournament.

Avanika from Theni, who was married two years ago, was apparently having an affair with her relative, Ramkumar.

Despite being told by her husband to end the affair, the couple carried on.

Avanika apparently killed herself after a neighbour spotted Ramkumar entering her house late one night and alerted the neighbourhood.
