Murder of teen: Young witness points to accused in court


IPOH: A child witness pointed out in court the senior police officer alleged to have crashed his car into 17-year-old Mohammad Zaharif Affendi Muhd Zamrie.

DPP Afzainizam Abdul Aziz asked the witness in the High Court here on Tuesday (Nov 12) if he could identify the person who rammed Zaharif Affendi's motorcycle, leading to the teenager's death.

Afzainizam: If I remove this barrier, can you identify the man who crashed into Zaharif?

Child witness: Can.

Afzainizam: Is this the man who crashed into Zaharif?

Witness: Yes, he crashed into Zaharif.

The witness was testifying in the murder trial of Deputy Supt Mohd Nazri Abdul Razak, who is accused of killing Zaharif Affendi.

DSP Mohd Nazri is charged with murdering Zaharif Affendi at the intersection of Jalan Taman Jati and Jalan Pekeliling Meru Indah, near SMK Jati, between 12.05pm and 12.40pm on Dec 15.

The witness had also testified on Monday (Nov 11) that the car driven by the man had run over the victim's torso.

The case is being heard before Justice Datuk Bhupindar Singh Gurcharan Singh Preet.
