China teen played badminton with a friend hours before his death, says report


PETALING JAYA: The Chinese national teenager who was found dead in the parking lot at an international school in Mont Kiara had been playing badminton hours before.

The youth had been playing badminton with a friend before mentioning that he wanted to go for "a drink", reported Sin Chew.

According to the father of a friend of the deceased, the youth and his son studied together at an international school in Kuala Lumpur.

The father, who wished to remain anonymous, told reporters that the two friends had played badminton together hours before the incident, after which the deceased had gone alone for a drink.

“After playing badminton, the deceased mentioned he wanted to ‘relax.’ My son advised him to return home early, and the deceased assured him that he would be responsible," he said, adding that the deceased was from Jiangsu.

It was reported that the 18-year-old, who has been identified as Patrick @ Qiu Xiangming from social media posts about his disappearance, was found dead in a parking lot at the school in Jalan Duta Kiara at around 9am on Saturday (Nov 9).

Qiu was last seen at the Solaris Mont Kiara area at around 2am on Saturday and a report was lodged on his disappearance at around 4pm.

The father said upon learning of his death, the deceased's mother and sister took separate flights to Malaysia, arriving on Saturday.

On Monday (Nov 11), the mother and sister arrived at the hospital morgue around 9,30 am to handle formalities and left at 12:10 pm.

Both appeared visibly sorrowful, comforted by friends accompanying them.
