Python captured after swallowing goat in Kedah

ALOR SETAR: A 4-meter python, which had just swallowed a large goat, was captured by a Civil Defence Force team in Kampung Poko Setol, Baling, on Thursday.

Baling civil defence officer Lieutenant Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said the capture was challenging as the snake had retreated into a pond after consuming the goat near a pen.

"We faced difficulties capturing it because the snake swam into the pond after eating the goat," he said.

Mohd Faizol said a distress call from the public was made around 8am, alerting our team to the incident. Civil Defence personnel managed to capture the 35kg python within 20 minutes.

He advised villagers to contact the Civil Defence Force or other relevant agencies if they encounter dangerous reptiles, urging them not to handle such situations on their own.
