Sandakan boat crash victim found dead


KOTA KINABALU: A man who was reported missing after a boat crash in Sandakan waters has been found dead a day after the incident.

Adzmin Isa, 24, was found drifting close to where he was last seen near Kg Bahagia waters at around 9.50am on Wednesday (Sept 25).

Sandakan fire station chief Severinus Sainkui said the body was surrendered to the police for further action after rescuers brought the body to shore.

He said the four others involved in the mishap were safe.

“The victim was with four friends before the crash. He was the only one who went missing after falling into the sea,” he said, adding that the others were rescued but sustained minor injuries.

Severinus said they received a distress call at 9.52pm on Tuesday (Sept 24) and a search was mounted with the help of the police, Civil Defence Force, MMEA and people from the nearby community.
