Khairuddin's removal as J-Kom DG done in accordance with due process, says Fahmi

PUTRAJAYA: The removal of Community Communication Department (J-Kom) director-general Mohd Khairuddin Othman was done in accordance with due process, says Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

“I can confirm that his service has been terminated. Regarding contract positions, any appointment or termination follows its own process, and this is a routine matter," said Fahmi.

“It was carried out accordingly,” he added at the media conference at the Communications Ministry building here on Wednesday (Sept 25).

When asked if he could disclose the reason for the termination, Fahmi replied, “no”.

He added that the J-Kom director-general position is currently being held by an interim appointee, but he did not reveal the person’s identity.

On Tuesday (Sept 24), Khairuddin was removed from his position at J-Kom after just six months in the role.

Khairuddin was appointed the J-Kom director-general on March 1, replacing Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff, who resigned last November.
