J-Kom DG Khairuddin terminated after six months

PETALING JAYA: Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general Khairuddin Othman has been terminated after only six months on the job.

"Yes... it is true," Khairuddin said when contacted on Tuesday (Sept 24).

He declined to elaborate, saying that the reason for his termination was for the Communications Ministry to clarify.

Khairuddin had been asked to confirm if his tenure as department head had been terminated.

On March 1, the former two-term Paya Jaras assemblyman took over from Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff, who stepped down in November last year.

Agus stepped down after a video clip of two men having an indecent conversation was circulated on social media.

He denied allegations that he was one of the men in the clip, claiming he was framed.

He then resigned from the post, citing a new job offer.

Khairuddin had previously served as Selangor youth, sports and human capital development committee chairman from 2018 to last year.
