Body of Indonesian man found burnt near railway station in Serdang


SERDANG: The body of a 43-year-old Indonesian man was found burnt in some bushes near a railway station here.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan said the body was discovered by a woman at about 11.45am on Tuesday (Aug 27).

"Once alerted, police personnel were deployed to the scene.

"Other agencies including the Fire and Rescue Department were also at the scene," he said when contacted on Tuesday.

Initial investigation revealed that the man was not fully burnt, he said.

"We were able to retrieve his personal documents and identify him.

"The body was sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and to find out the cause of death," he said.

He urged those with information on any missing person to contact the Sersang police.
