Melaka cops trying to trace missing soldier

MELAKA: Melaka police are trying to trace the whereabouts of a 21-year-old soldier who went missing in June.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the parents of Muhammad Fakhrullah Nazri lodged a police report here on June 24 when their son failed to either report for duty or return home.

"He was supposed to report to his base at Terendak Army Camp in Sungai Udang here after completing his leave but has since gone missing.

He left to report for duty riding a motorcycle with the registration number MBR 7230 at 8.10pm on June 24," he said on Thursday (Aug 1).

ACP Christopher Patit said the soldier has been at the camp for the past two years.

"He is untraceable until today and was last seen wearing chocolate-coloured pants and sports shoes," he added.

ACP Christopher Patit said anyone who has information on the missing person could contact the nearest police station or Sjn Major Zulkeple Berahim at 010-5052368 or 06-3511222.
