Suspected kidnapper in Kuala Selangor case to be charged in court tomorrow


SHAH ALAM: The 32-year-old man, who allegedly absconded with two children in Kuala Selangor, will be charged in court on Thursday (July 25).

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the investigation paper has been referred to the deputy public prosecutor on Wednesday (July 24).

"We have received instruction to charge the suspect under Section 363 of the Penal Code, which is abducting a child from their legal guardian.

"He will be charged at the Sungai Besar Magistrate's Court on Thursday," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

On July 19, two girls aged six and eight were kidnapped by a man at Taman Ikan Emas. They were later found near their house in Taman Kelisa at around 7.45pm.

"The suspect was arrested at a house in Jeram at around 2.40am on July 21. There was no attempt to run and he cooperated.

"The motive is still being investigated," he said.

Checks show that he had a prior record for breaking into a house to commit burglary.

The suspect was then remanded for five days.
