Relationship and financial issues linked to college student's murder, say cops

SHAH ALAM: The preliminary motive behind the murder of a foreign student in a condominium in Bandar Sunway has been linked to personal issues relating to relationships and finances, say police.

He told a press conference at the contingent headquarters here that the duo were students of the same institution.

“As of now that is the motive that we have found but we are still probing deeper.

“We believe at this stage he is the main suspect involved, However we cannot dismiss any possibilities until investigations have concluded," he said.

He added that they also believe that both stayed in the same house.

He said the police have seized the suspected murder weapon used in the crime.

Comm Shazeli however refused to elaborate on the nature of the injuries found on the body of the victim.

“A post mortem will be conducted today and we have to wait for it,” he said.

The body of the 20-year-old woman was found murdered in the condominium on Monday (June 22).

Petaling Jaya deputy OCPD Supt M. Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly disclosed this in a statement.

A foreigner in his twenties was arrested at the same location to assist investigations.
