Gombak cops dispose of case items worth RM1.3mil


GOMBAK: Some RM1.3mil worth of case items and evidence have been disposed of, says Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir.

He said it consists of evidence from 912 investigation papers between 2020 and this year.

"The items were from court cases that have been concluded.

"The disposal of the evidence has been approved by the courts and relevant authorities," he told reporters after the case disposal event at Gombak district police headquarters on Friday (July 19).

The evidence consisted of 183,111 items from cases investigated by the Gombak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and 100 items from cases conducted by the Gombak Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), he added.

"Among the items are 2,650 electronic devices, 316 bitcoin mining machine, 112,730 boxes of cigarettes and 9,940 bottles of liquor.

ACP Noor Ariffin said the case items would be disposed of using the electronic waste (ewaste) method as well as destroyed through burning and burying.

"The last time Gombak police conducted evidence disposal was on June 17, 2022," he said.

Among others who attended the event were Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib and as well as magistrates and deputy public prosecutors from Selayang Court.:
