Fatal food poisoning: Cops still waiting for chemist report

GOMBAK: The police are still waiting for the chemist report in connection with the food poisoning incident that killed two individuals last month.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the case is still being investigated.

"We are waiting for the chemist report.

"So far we have recorded the statements of 22 individuals," he said.

It was reported that a food poisoning incident had led to two deaths after family members brought food back from a school event on June 8.

A 17-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl died days later after consuming what health authorities believe to be a meal of fried bihun and fried eggs that was served at a school event.

Selangor state health director Dr Ummi Kalthom Shamsudin previously said that the meal was catered by an external party and that out of the 247 people that ate the meal, 82 people (33%) exhibited symptoms.
