Violence is never the solution, PM says on Trump assassination attempt

SERDANG: Violence is not the solution for disagreements, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Speaking in response to the assassination attempt targeting former United States president Donald Trump on Saturday (July 13), Anwar added that he expresses his sympathies.

“We have obtained early information on Trump and whatever our stance is towards any leader, this method is not a solution

“Therefore, we express sympathy towards Trump and we hope the situation there remains under control,” said Anwar to reporters when met at Serdang on Sunday (July 14)

Several shots were fired at Trump during a rally at Pennsylvania, with a bullet grazing his right ear.

According to the US Secret Service, the assassination attempt consisted of multiple shots fired from an elevated position outside the rally venue.

One spectator was killed, and two others were critically injured.
