Six guns, drugs worth RM4.6mil seized in Penang raids


GEORGE TOWN: An assortment of drugs worth RM4.6mil and six pistols with 100 rounds of ammunition have been seized following the arrest of a man in Sungai Ara here.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Khaw Kok Chin said the 38-year-old man was detained on Friday (May 24) at a house.

The narcotics team then raided an apartment in Batu Uban the next day, he told a press conference on Monday (May 27).

"In the house and apartment, which was used as a drug laboratory and store, we discovered heroin base (34.14kg), heroin (13.84kg), syabu (46.19kg) and caffeine (118.02kg).

"The firearms of various calibre and ammunition were found in a cupboard, and we are trying to determine if the pistols were used in any criminal cases reported in the country recently," Comm Khaw added.
