25 escooters seized during raid on unlicensed premises in Penang


GEORGE TOWN: A total of 25 escooters have been seized by Penang Island City Council (MBPP) during a special operation on Friday (March 1).

A Bangladeshi national was found to be operating the unlicensed business at 11pm.

"The raid on the premises operating unlicensed escooter rental business was conducted by the Licensing Department and the Intelligence and Operations Team.

"At the time of the raid, only one Bangladeshi national was operating the business.

"Checks also found that the premises was operating without a valid licence.

"The raid resulted in the seizure of 25 escooters that were used for business without a valid licence from the council," said the council in a statement posted on Facebook.
