Local woman found dead outside apartment in Bundusan, believed fallen from fourth floor


KOTA KINABALU: The body of a woman was found sprawled in front of an apartment door by the public at around 4pm on Sunday (May 26).

Penampang district police chief Deputy Superintendent Erwansyah Abdul Basir said an investigation revealed that the woman, a local aged 24, had fallen from the fourth floor.

Erwansyah said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers.

"Initial investigation revealed that the woman had fallen from the fourth floor and landed in front of an apartment along Jalan Bundusan.

"Her body has been sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 for post-mortem," he said.

The case is classified as sudden death.

Police advised the public not to make any speculations on the issue to avoid disrupting the investigation.

“We would also advise the public to refrain from sharing photos from the scene out of respect for the family's privacy," he said.
