THE parents of a woman, who had suffered a relapse of mental health issues, decided to kill her when her condition did not improve, Makkal Osai reported.
Sepyala, 49, and Yellavva, 43, a couple from India’s southern state of Telangana, had apparently strangled their adult daughter while she slept at their home.
The 24-year-old daughter had been dealing with psychological issues for many years.
Her parents previously managed to get treatment for her and she began to feel better. She even got married and had a child.
However, she suffered a relapse and came to stay with her parents, who brought her to various places of worship to seek for a cure.
When her mental health did not get any better, her parents decided to solve the problem by killing her.
The couple reported to the police that their daughter had died of natural causes.
However, police began investigating the matter after suspicious neighbours alerted them.
Eventually, the parents confessed during questioning and were arrested.
