Head to Star Education Fair for valuable insights into tertiary study options


PUTRAJAYA: School leavers unsure of what to do next should visit the Star Education Fair, at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The two-day fair, organised by Star Media Group, which ends on Sunday (May 5), includes a full lineup of talk sessions.

Those interested in information technology (IT) can join a "Blockchain and Cloud Computing: The Perfect Match for Securing Data and Transactions" session at 1.30pm.

City University Malaysia Faculty of IT deputy dean Dr Asma Zubaida M. Ibrahim will lead the session.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology will give a talk titled "Aviation Provides International Career Opportunities" at 2 pm.

Later, at 4pm, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) School of Business and Economics is conducting a talk on "Nurturing Growth Mindset" by Assoc Prof Dr Ahmad Fahmi Sheikh Hassan.

UPM School of Business and Economics executive officer II Azrul Firdaus Mohd Aini said the speaker is involved in their Master in Finance.

He added that the school is a well-known business and economics school that is accredited by the United States of America’s Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and Equis by the European Union.

Also scheduled is a talk by Universiti Tenaga Nasional at 3pm and an inspirational talk by an educational influencer under the Student Volunteers Foundation.

Besides the talk programmes, there are various tertiary study options and financial assistance such as study loans and scholarships on offer.

The main exhibitors at the fair are the Alliance of Government-linked Universities.

International institutions such as Health Careers International Australia, Singapore's Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, China's Zhejiang University International Business School and South East Technological University Ireland also participate in the fair.

Among the highlights at the fair are the exciting prizes up for grabs.

Lucky visitors can win the Realme Pad (RMP2102), Buds T100, Watch 3 and smartphone (C51) during the Register & Win sessions. The exclusive prizes are sponsored by Juara Partners & Anand Foundation.

The fair is open from 11am to 7pm. Admission is free. Door gifts await the early birds.

The Star Education Fair is in its 37th year and is one of the country’s pioneer education exhibitions.

It has continuously provided visitors with educational programmes ranging from pre-university, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate to professional and vocational courses from various local and international institutions.
