Bomba extinguishes blaze that razed 40% of Pasir Gudang palm oil factory


PASIR GUDANG: The Fire and Rescue Department has extinguished a fire that broke out at a palm oil processing factory in Jalan Besi 2 in the Pasir Gudang Industrial Area, here.

The department's operation commander Sarhan Akmal Mohamad said that the incident was reported at 7.19am on Saturday (April 27) and the situation was under control at 8.17am.

“The fire had occurred on the second floor of a 900sq m permanent building.

“It razed 40% of the structure, and the fire did not involve any casualties,” he said in a statement.

He added that a total of 18 personnel were deployed to the scene, along with two fire trucks and two Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) vans.

The operation ended at 12.29pm.

Earlier, a few videos were posted on the Community Roda Johor Facebook page showing the incident in Pasir Gudang.
