KKB polls: PKR to work with all component parties to ensure victory, says Fahmi

KOTA KINABALU: PKR reiterates that it will work with all component parties to ensure the victory in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election next month.

Speaking after attending a special Sabah PKR council meeting here on Saturday (April 20), its information chief Fahmi Fadzil said even Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had also voiced out their support.

Fahmi, who is also Communications Minister, was responding to MCA’s statement that the party would not be campaigning in the by-election if the chosen candidate was not from Barisan.

MCA decided on this at the party’s political development committee at the party's headquarters recently.

The Kuala Kubu Baharu seat became vacant following the demise of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, from DAP, on March 21.

The Election Commission (EC) had set polling day for May 11, while nomination and early voting would be on April 27 and May 7 respectively.
