Over 10,000 Malaysians back home under returning expert programme, Senate told

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 10,844 Malaysians have returned to the country under the Returning Expert Programme (REP) since 2021, the Dewan Negara was told.

Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad said the data was obtained from TalentCorp based on the number of applications they received from Malaysian professionals working abroad.

"We are making efforts to ensure that our skilled workers abroad can be brought back and thereby reduce the migration gap," he said when replying to a question from Senator Datuk Juhanis Abd Aziz on Monday (March 25).

Abdul Rahman said that among the initiatives implemented included providing job opportunities, sharing labour market information and education for children. – Bernama
