Machang MP insists 'draft agreement' on allocation sent to Opposition chief by PM's representative

PETALING JAYA: Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayshal Wan Ahmad Kamal insists that the Opposition leader has received a "draft agreement" on allocations from a representative of the Prime Minister.

Wan Fayhsal claimed that the draft was kept under wraps from many parties, including Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who were in the dark about the "draft" on allocations for Opposition constituencies.

"It's not fake news," said Wan Fayhsal in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

On Sunday (March 24), Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who was also the unity government chief whip, said there was no draft document submitted or received during his meeting with Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin in Parliament on March 19.

"I emphasise once again that during my meeting with Opposition representatives last week, no documents were provided by the Madani government or the Opposition.

"It was merely a session to hear their requests and offers, and there was no discussion on any 'agreement,'" he said in a statement Sunday.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil also denied that the government provided any "draft" on allocations to members of the Opposition.

Last week, Hamzah met Fadillah on the issue of allocations for the Opposition.
