Breaking fast together tightens bonds between Muslims and non-Muslim leaders in Barisan, says Dr Wee

KUALA LUMPUR: Breaking fast together tightens bonds between Umno and non-Muslim leaders in Barisan Nasional, said Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

In a Facebook posting on Friday (March 22), the MCA president said that it was "tradition" for him to attend such events when invited.

"It has become a tradition. Every time, I have been given an invite I will surely be present to celebrate with my friends in Umno in breaking fast. Such events serve to tighten the bonds amongst the Umno leadership with its grassroots and with non-muslim friends from Barisan Nasional," he said.

He added that the event on Friday at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur here also saw aid being handed over to orphans by Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
