KUANTAN: "I never expected to recover this note after four years," says Nur Hidayah Mohamad, a 25-year-old from Jabor, Kemaman, on Tuesday (Feb 20).

This after Mohd Azfarul Zainol Akmar, 35, attempted to locate the owner of a RM50 note with the words "last money received from dad, May 11, 2020, al-Fatihah” written on it.

Nur Hidayah shared that she had to use the money a few months after her father passed away from kidney disease.

"At that time, it was the only cash in my purse, and the nearest ATM was quite a distance away," she said.

Mohd Azfarul Zainol Akmar, also known as Tuah Lim on Facebook, posted the image on the note on Feb 20, claiming it was from an ATM in Kuantan, Pahang.

"Maybe the original owner wants this money back," he wrote.

The post amassed over 11,000 shares and 300 comments. In a subsequent interview with local media, Mohd Azfarul shared that several individuals had come forward, claiming ownership of the note since the post went viral.
