‘Woman found dead in parked car was resting’


IPOH: A woman who was found dead inside a parked car at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Tuesday was sleeping in the back seat without the windows open, say Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan. He said the victim was taking care of her father who was warded at the hospital.

“She was resting in the back seat without winding down the windows,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

He said the case has been classified as sudden death while awaiting post-mortem.

ACP Yahaya said a security guard at the hospital, who saw the woman in the car, believed she was dead and contacted the police.

“The car doors were opened with the help of firefighters.

“Checks by medical officers confirmed that she had died,” he added.On Tuesday, Perak Fire and Rescue Department’s operations commander Bakri Manaf said a distress call was made at 6.07pm.

He said the car was parked in front of the hospital’s specialist clinics car park area.“When we arrived there, we saw a woman in a locked car.

“The victim, in her 20s, was declared dead at the scene by the health authorities,” he said.

He added that firefighters used special equipment to open the car doors.
