Label on crashed aircraft's wing indicates it could be a trainer


KLANG: A label on one of the wings of the light aircraft that crashed in Kapar here says that it was manufactured by Blackshape.

Besides that, it also beats the words "Gabriel" and "Aviation Safety Technology".

A search on the aircraft manufacturing company's website states that the Blackshape Gabriel was created by Italian aircraft maker Blackshape mainly to train pilots.

The Gabriel model was stated as being very powerful with high-end technology that is best suited to train military pilots.

Although nothing has been confirmed, the crashed aircraft could be a Blackshape Gabriel Trainer Aircraft based on the markings.

A 2020 article on an aviation site, in regard to the Blackshape Gabriel Trainer Aircraft, states that the company has "plans to cooperate with aircraft manufacturers in South-East Asian countries such as Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines and Malaysia."

Apparently, it was to provide technology transfer or necessary kits to build or assemble the aircraft in these countries.
