Perak MCA's reunion dinner sees 500 members attend

PETALING JAYA: Despite it being the last weekend before Chinese New Year celebrations, Perak MCA divisions have turned up in full force for the party’s state reunion dinner.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said he was glad Perak MCA were willing to put aside their preparations for the festive season and attend the dinner as a big family.

Dr Wee said he took this opportunity to share several current issues while presenting his Chinese New Year speech to 500 members from all divisions in Perak.

"In a democratic system, it is important to have checks and balances, conducted by elected representatives based on facts and for the interests of the people and the nation," the Ayer Hitam MP said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Feb 3).

Also present were MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, vice-presidents Datuk Lawrence Low and Datuk Tan Teik Cheng; National Organising Secretary Leaw Kok Chan, central committee members Dr. Monna Ong, Datuk Ooi Jing Ting, Leong Kok Wee, Chenderiang assemblyman Choong Shin Heng, Ting Zhao Song and Saw Yee Fung, MCA Speaker Datuk Yik Phooi Hong, division chairmen, Youth and Wanita central committee members and Perak SLC committee members.
