Duo nabbed for assaulting driver after accident with school van in Semenyih


KAJANG: Two men have been arrested for attacking a driver after a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Semenyih.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said that the complainant, a 63-year-old man, lodged a report on the alleged attack on Jan 12, a day after the incident.

The complainant was involved in a multi-vehicle collision that also involved a school van.

One of the students was injured in the crash.

"After the accident, the complainant stopped his car at the side of the road and several unknown men approached him. He was punched and kicked, sustaining injuries to his stomach, forehead and body," he said in a statement on Saturday (Jan 13).

He added that those involved assumed he was speeding and had run through a red light, leading to the collision.

Police arrested two suspects aged 26 and 43 at around 3.30am on Saturday (Jan 13) in Kajang.

Both men confessed to the attack, adding that they were angry at the complainant for causing the collision.

They have been remanded until Jan 15.
