Cops investigating mobile phone shop robbery in Kota Masai


PASIR GUDANG: Police have opened up an investigation following a video of two men breaking into a mobile phone shop at Jalan Betik 1, Taman Kota Masai, here.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident occurred at 4.38am on Monday (Jan 1).

"We have received a police report regarding the incident from a 35-year-old man.

"The suspects have stolen 16 mobile phones of various brands worth RM19,161," he said in a statement here on Tuesday (Jan 2).

Supt Mohd Sohaimi added that the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for breaking into a premise to commit burglary.

Earlier, a three-minute, 16-second video was uploaded to the Komuniti Kota Masai Facebook page, showing two men wearing helmets breaking into a shop.
