PETALING JAYA: The new appointments will work as a team with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in their respective roles to strengthen the economy and enhance the harmony and well-being among Malaysians, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Ahmad Zahid said he hopes that the new leaders would further improve the efforts of the unity government to deliver the best services to the people and nation in line with the Madani concept.
“Today, the Honourable Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, announced a Cabinet reshuffle that saw several new leadership figures joining the government.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to all the newly appointed leaders who have taken their oath of office as Cabinet members and pledged confidentiality before His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong today.
“I am confident that these new leaders can provide the best, trustworthy, and dedicated service throughout their tenure,” the Bagan Datuk MP wrote on his Instagram account.
Earlier on Tuesday (Dec 12), Anwar announced six portfolio changes and five new ministers appointed in his first Cabinet reshuffle.

Anwar’s original Cabinet, which had 28 ministers, has now been expanded to 31, following the split of two ministerial portfolios and the appointment of a second Finance Minister.
Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar was the only minister to be dropped. He will be replaced by Steven Sim, who was the recent Deputy Finance Minister II.
Technocrat and Employees Provident Fund (EPF) CEO Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan was appointed as Finance Minister II.
