THE Ipoh Hindu Devasthana Paripalana Sabha is in danger of having its registration revoked by the Registrar of Societies (ROS), Makkal Osai reported.
The Sabha administers the Ipoh Kallumalai Sri Subrammaniar Temple, which is one of the most important temples in the country, the Buntong Sri Mahamariamman Temple and the Hindu crematorium.
The trouble faced by the Sabha was highlighted by Sungkai assemblyman A. Sivanesan following a meeting with Buntong assemblyman Thulsi Thivani Manogaran at his office.
The Sabha should have held its annual meeting by June 30 according to it constitution, but failed to do so. It eventually held the meeting on Nov 26.
The ROS issued a show-cause letter to the temple administrators, which should have been replied to by Dec 8.
The new management that came in after the November meeting was reported to have said that they were unable to submit the records as they were not properly handed over to them by the previous management, said Sivanesan.
