Eight FRU personnel injured in bus crash on Kajang-Seremban Expressway

SEREMBAN: Eight Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel were injured after a bus transporting them crashed into a wall at the Setul toll plaza here on Monday (Dec 4).

Nilai police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the eight were in a group of 16 FRU personnel who were heading back here from Cheras when the accident took place around 5.25pm on Monday along the Kajang-Seremban Expressway.

"The crash happened after the bus driver tried to avoid a lorry which had swerved suddenly from the right to the left lane.

"The driver then lost control of the bus and crashed into the wall," he said in a statement.

Supt Abdul Malik said the injured personnel were then rushed to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital for treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.

He urged eye witnesses to contact investigating officer Insp Nor Fadzilah Mohd Zainuddin at 06-790 4404.
