Repair work underway to restore power supply on Putrajaya Line

KUALA LUMPUR: Repair work is underway to restore power supply and train services on the Putrajaya Line following a cable theft near the Taman Equine MRT Station, according to Rapid KL.

It said alternative train services and free shuttle buses remained available to help passengers get to their destinations during the disruption.

"Alternative train services and free shuttle buses are still operating to assist passengers, with eight additional buses deployed to facilitate passenger movement," it said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 4).

The service disruption was caused by a loss of power following a cable theft near Taman Equine Station, which was detected at 5.24am on Sunday.

Following the incident, a train was stranded at the station, while technical teams were mobilised to inspect the affected area and carry out the necessary repair works to restore power supply and train services.

Rapid KL also advised passengers travelling to Sepang via the ERL from Putrajaya Sentral to use alternative routes via the KL Sentral or Bandar Tasik Selatan ERL stations.

Station staff and auxiliary police personnel have also been deployed at stations and bus stops to help manage passenger movement.

Rapid KL said it would provide updates on the service status from time to time through its official social media channels. – Bernama
