Blanket diesel subsidy gives rise to leakages, smuggling, says Ahmad Zahid

PUTRAJAYA: The granting of blanket diesel subsidy gives room for unscrupulous parties to misappropriate or smuggle this commodity in the black market, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said as such, it was not appropriate for the government to continue with the current method of granting subsidies as it was unfair to the target group comprising people who really need assistance.
