PKR must remain in power for at least two terms to fulfil reform agenda, says Dr Zaliha

PUTRAJAYA: It takes at least two terms for any government to fulfil any reform agenda, said Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

Speaking at the Wanita PKR congress Saturday (Nov 25), the Health Minister said the party’s focus should be on winning the next election not because of greed for power but to continue its work.

“This is not because of the craze or greed for power but we have to remain in power to continue our reform agenda,” said Dr Zaliha who is also the party election committee chief.

“No government has been able to implement its agendas within just one term. It takes at least two terms,” she said.

She added that the government must be able to bring changes, walk the talk and fulfil the promises in its manifesto.

The party’s congress kicked off with the Wanita PKR and Angkatan Muda Keadilan congresses.

The PKR’s youth and women national congress was attended by over 1,200 delegates and observers.

The attendance consists of 126 PKR divisions across the country.

This is also the first party congress held after PKR chief Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s appointment as the tenth prime minister on Nov 24,2022. The party also marked the 25th anniversary of the reformasi movement in Sept.
