Eight evacuated due to flash flood in Pasir Gudang


PASIR GUDANG: Eight people were evacuated from their houses after a flash flood hit Jalan Damai 8, Kampung Sentosa Damai.

Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Ramli A. Hamid said the incident occurred at 7.15pm on Sunday (Nov 12).

“The water level rose about three feet, and eight people, including an elderly woman, were affected by the flash flood. The victims were from two families. They have been evacuated to the surau nearby using one

fibreglass boat,” he said in a statement on Monday (Nov 13).

He added that the water had receded at 8.43pm, and no other victims needed to be rescued.
