Rafizi successfully underwent heart stent procedure, says Saifuddin

PUTRAJAYA: Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has successfully undergone a heart stent procedure, says his Cabinet colleague Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Saifuddin, who is also Rafizi's PKR comrade said that he learned from those close to Rafizi that the procedure was done last week.

"I have yet to speak to him or visit him in hospital as we were told that Rafizi is not allowed to accept visitors for now," he said when met at the National Registration Department's 75th anniversary on Wednesday (Oct 25).

Rafizi is the PKR deputy president while Saifuddin is the secretary-general.

Wishing Rafizi a speedy recovery, Saifuddin said he would advise the former to take time to rest so that he would make a full recovery.

"Knowing Rafizi, he can be rather degil (stubborn). If one is required to take two weeks of medical leave, he will only do one week.

"That's how he is. He is very dedicated and hard-working. But as an abang (elder brother), I will advise him to rest," he said.

On Oct 21, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa was reported to have said that Rafizi was in stable condition after suffering from a heart ailment recently.

It is learnt that the Pandan MP was rushed to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) after he suffered a heart attack.
