Three women nabbed for accepting bribes to pass candidates in driving tests

JOHOR BARU: Three women were detained by the Johor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly accepting bribes.

The suspects aged 23 to 43 were detained at the Johor MACC office at 9pm on Sunday (Oct 22).

"They were detained following cooperation with a company providing electronic application services to the government," said the sources.

The suspects were two service officers of Rangkaian Interaktif Elektronik Kerajaan (Rilek) Kota Tinggi branch and a clerk at a driving school.

They allegedly had received bribes from candidates sitting for the computerised examination as an inducement to pass the examination.

"Investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected to be made in the case," said the sources.

Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias confirmed the arrest.
