KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has met with Indonesia's Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah here on Friday (Oct 20).
The MCA president said it was an honour to meet Ida, adding that many topics were discussed during their meeting.
"We discussed the economy, the relationship between Malaysians and Indonesians, as well as political scenarios during the 2024 Indonesian presidential election, which has garnered global attention," Dr Wee said in a Facebook post on Friday (Oct 20).
During the meeting, Dr Wee also expressed his gratitude to Indonesia for their workforce contributions to Malaysia.
"It has greatly contributed to the development of Malaysia across various sectors, including construction, plantations and domestic helpers," he said.
Dr Wee, who is also Ayer Hitam MP, said both Ida and himself saw eye-to-eye when it came to ongoing issues in Palestine, adding that the Zionist regime must stop immediately.
"We pray for peace in Palestine," he added.
Separately, Dr Wee said Ida's mother is also a notable figure from Indonesian political party Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB).
"The MCA leadership and myself were invited for an honorary visit to PKB in the future," he said.
