Man, 33, killed after car rams into tree in Johor


JOHOR BARU: A 33-year-old man was killed after his vehicle crashed into a tree on Jalan Seri Austin 1, Bandar Dato’ Onn, here.

Tebrau Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Noor Azhan Ahmad said that the incident occurred at 2.24am on Tuesday (Oct 17).

“The vehicle crashed into a tree with the driver stuck inside. The body of the victim was brought out using a spinal board.

“The victim was pronounced dead at the location by the medical team,” he said in a statement here.

Noor Azhan added that a total of eight officers from the department were deployed to the scene, along with a fire truck and Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) van.

The body has been handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
