Father and son acquitted of contraband beer charges

KUALA PILAH: An unemployed man and his businessman son have been acquitted and discharged by a Magistrate's Court here on a charge of possessing 1,248 cans of beer on which duty had not been paid.

Magistrate Saiful Sayoti, in acquitting P. Aplanayara, 66, and A. Kartik, 37, on Thursday (Oct 12) ruled that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against the duo
