Four areas in Johor and Sarawak record unhealthy API readings Oct 3 evening


KUALA LUMPUR: Four areas in Johor and Sarawak recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at unhealthy levels as of 6pm on Saturday (Oct 3).

According to data from the Environment Department's Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Pasir Gudang recorded the highest reading at 155, followed by Larkin at 152, both in Johor.

The two other areas in Sarawak recording unhealthy readings were the Serian District Police Headquarters (IPD Serian) station at 128 and Sri Aman at 112.

Meanwhile, 60 areas recorded moderate API readings, while three locations recorded good air quality, namely Taiping in Perak (49), Langkawi in Kedah (41) and Kangar in Perlis (32).

An API reading of zero to 50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy and above 300 as hazardous. – Bernama
