PETALINGA JAYA: Only one area recorded an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading as at 8am on Friday (Oct 2).
The Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal reported the API reading for Seri Manjung in Perak at 101.
Meanwhile, 62 areas had a moderate API reading while five areas had a good API reading.
In the Klang Valley, the air pollutant index for Shah Alam in Selangor was 94, Cheras (93), Johan Setia (88), Petaling Jaya (85), Putrajaya (80) and Banting (73).
Other places were Tawau (83), Sri Aman (79), Seremban (76), Kota Tinggi (71), Port Dickson (68), Kota Baru (66) and Sibu (60).
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
