Motivational speaker remanded over alleged child sexual harassment


KANGAR: A motivational speaker has been remanded for two days from Saturday (Oct 3) to assist police in their investigations into the alleged sexual harassment of a child.

Padang Besar OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Shokri Abdullah confirmed the matter when contacted by Bernama on Saturday.

The media reported Friday (Oct 2) that police had received a report on Sept 26 concerning an allegation of sexual harassment involving a child by a motivational speaker.

Perlis police chief Dept Comm Hamzah Hashim was quoted as saying that the case was being investigated under Section 12 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

He also urged other victims who may have had contact with the motivational speaker to come forward and lodge police reports. — Bernama
