KUALA LUMPUR: After over 70 years, it is time to increase the RM1,000 fine stipulated under Section 9 of the House of Parliament (Privileges and Powers) Act 1952 to a higher amount, says Dewan Negara Speaker Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
The Senate president said this could ensure those summoned to appear before a Parliamentary committee will do so without going missing.
