Foreign artistes apologise to Malaysian fans after Good Vibes cancelled


PETALING JAYA: Australian rapper Kid Laroi, who was supposed to perform at the Good Vibes Festival 2023, only found out that it had been cancelled after touching down at KL International Airport on Saturday (July 22).

Taking to Instagram, he apologised to his fans here for not being able to perform for them.

"Touched down and found out the festival is cancelled. I love you Malaysia. I'm sorry," he said in an Instagram Story.

R&B singer Dhruv also apologised to his Malaysian fans for not being able to perform at the Good Vibes Festival.

In an Instagram post, the London-based artiste said due to "issues outside of his control", he could not enter the country.

"We have been inside the KL International Airport for the last 14 hours, hoping for a better outcome. Unfortunately, I'm unable to enter the country."

But he promised his fans that he would return and perform in Malaysia.

"I am so sorry to anyone who got a ticket to see me play. I'm devastated, but I will make it my No. 1 priority to come back here."

The Good Vibes Festival ran into controversy after English pop rock band The 1975's frontman Matty Healy publicly attacked Malaysian laws and breached local performance guidelines.

The band was later blacklisted from performing in the country and the event was subsequently cancelled.
