Over 600 graduates to benefit from VTAR Institute-Gamuda partnership programme

PETALING JAYA: More than 600 graduates will be trained in a two-year programme under the partnership between MCA’s VTAR Institute and Gamuda, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said the TVET course in the Certificate in Digital Manufacturing in Construction was designed to keep trainees’ knowledge sharp for the next-generation Digital Industrialised Building System (IBS).

"Trainees will be exposed to Gamuda's digital design and robotic manufacturing expertise, allowing them to comprehend and leverage robotics and automation to enhance construction site productivity and safety.

"The good news for prospective students is the course, consisting of three months’ soft skills training in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving in VTAR, followed by 21 months’ on-the-job training at Gamuda's next-gen Digital IBS factory in Banting that will be fully funded by Gamuda.

"Kudos to Gamuda and VTAR for leading the way in future-proofing our front-line workforce in the construction industry that is able to adapt to shifting market conditions," he said in a Facebook post on Friday (July 7).

VTAR Institute is a private vocational college and community project of Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad (Kojadi), which is an education loan cooperative under MCA.
