Apologise immediately, PM tells social media user over rude tweet

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim regrets the action of social media user Zaki Yamani, who posted a tweet regarding the health of PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

In a Twitter post on Sunday (July 2), Anwar directed Zaki to apologise for his post.

"I vehemently object and regret the uncouth posting of Zaki Yamani and have asked him to apologise immediately," said Anwar.

Earlier, Zaki had written a disparaging statement on the health of Abdul Hadi and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Abdul Hadi's health has been reported to be deteriorating and he is presently seeking treatment at a hospital.

His son, Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, had made this known in a Facebook post Saturday (July 2), and asked for well-wishers to pray for his father's health.

"Please pray for my father as his health has deteriorated before Hari Raya Aidiladha and he is seeking treatment and being monitored by doctors at the hospital," he said in his post.
