Negri MB, excos will return cars before polls

SEREMBAN: The official cars used by the Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar and the state executive councillors will be returned to the state before the start of the campaigning period for the coming state polls, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

However, he said they would use the vehicles if there are official events that are taking place during this period.

Aminuddin said that in principle, they could still use the official vehicles after nomination day in their capacities as officials of the caretaker state government, but have decided against it.

“We will only use the cars if there is official business. Otherwise, we will not be using the vehicles or any other government facilities for campaigning purposes, although there is no law against this,” he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting here yesterday.

Aminuddin will be seeking the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir next Wednesday to dissolve the state assembly.

The Negeri Sembilan state assembly is expected to be dissolved on June 30.
